Our greatest natural resource is one that provides more than six billion years of power… the sun! Since 2001, over 1.4 million households, small businesses and community organisations across Australia country have installed solar PV systems.
Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems (commonly referred to as solar panels) are a way of capturing sunlight and converting it into electricity. The main financial benefit of this is avoiding paying for electricity from the grid.
When you install a solar PV system, your home uses the electricity produced by the panels at the time it is generated. Any additional electricity generated is “fed” back into the “grid” and your electricity retailer pays you for that electricity. Alternatively, excess energy can be stored in batteries for use at night and daytime use if needed.
Every kWh your solar system produces is a kWh you don’t have to buy!
For example, a 3kW-5kW system installed on a typical family home could save up to $2,200 per year. Alternatively, a larger 10kW-20kW system installed on a medium-sized office could save up to $8,800 per year!
Currently there are very generous Federal Government financial incentives available. From the 1st January 2017 these incentives will be reduced.
- Current Federal Government financial incentives for a typical family home = $4,000
- Current Federal Government financial incentives for a typical commercial property = $30,000

Did you know?
Did you know that dirty solar panels can lose up to 70% of their efficiency?
Manufacturers now agree that regular maintenance of solar systems improves electrical output and the lifespan of their components. Call Premium Solar Solutions today to arrange a check-up of your system to ensure it is working at its optimum efficiency.

Hunt wants Australia to lead world in battery storage
Environment minister Greg Hunt says he wants Australia to lead the world in battery storage, in the same way as it has done so in rooftop solar. “Solar and storage together are the future of electricity,” Hunt said during a whirlwind visit to two battery storage trials at new residential communities in Western Australia. “That’s a huge
Home battery storage to ‘revolutionise’ solar industry in Australia: Climate Council report
Coupling solar panels with home battery storage could be the cheapest way to get electricity within three years, according to a report by the Climate Council. The environmental not-for-profit found battery storage would "revolutionise" the way Australians accessed electricity, allowing homes to become more independent of the traditional grid. Report's key findings: By 2018, going
